I am sure you know that the Canary Islands are made up of eight wonderful islands and one islet. On the one hand, there is the province of Las Palmas, made of four islands: Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote y La Graciosa. Y, por otro lado, se encuentra la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, conformada por cuatro islas más: Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera y El Hierro.

I know, I know! Everyone, even Canarians, think there are seven of us, but I refuse to leave anyone behind. I have a soldier’s heart and La Graciosa for me, with its mere 627 inhabitants, is also an island, full stop. No more talk! :-)

The islet is a small land mass of less than 5 square kilometers, where although there are houses, nobody lives. Lobos is considered a world heritage site and to protect its natural habitat it is forbidden to inhabit it.

Certainly, on our islet, there is a restaurant that opens every day, but no one lives there. Its staff commute every morning to open its doors from its neighboring island of Fuerteventura, to which they return every evening after closing.

I've been there a thousand times and I love it. If one day you decide to go, I hope you like to eat what comes from the sea, because they only serve two dishes: Fried Fish and Paella. If you don't like either of those two options, take something with you because you won't have access to anything else. Of course, those two dishes are to die for!

At Isla de Lobos, they abide by one of Aristotle's maxims: "We are what we do every day. So, excellence is not an act but a habit". And believe me, in the preparation of these two dishes, they are truly skillful.

The unique nature of its flora and fauna makes each of the eight lucky ones different and charming in its own way. And despite many attempts to create rivalry between the two provinces, they have not succeeded. Because as the Canarian song says "...come on let's sing, we are 7, (although I say 8) on the same sea, feel the beat of a single pulse, Christmas is here...".

I know, I know! Today I seem to be making lots of mistakes, it's July and this song talks about Christmas, but today I feel like a little girl before Father Christmas arrives.

Very simple, I wanted to give you a clue in the title of this blog, La Boutique Canary Real Estate is expanding its borders!!.

We are opening a new office in the neighboring province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. On the biggest island of all, in Tenerife, the island of the great mountains and the continent of Spain's largest peak, its majestic Teide which measures 3,715 meters. Did you know that it is also the third largest volcano in the whole world?

I can't tell you yet if we are going to open in the north next to the historical heritage of La Laguna, if we will open in the capital city next to the sea and its most powerful urban center or if we will open in the south, where you will find the largest number of tourists.

What I can tell you, is that we already have a colleague based in Tenerife doing her best so that your experience with us is exactly the same as when you bought or sold your property with us in Gran Canaria.

I am pleased and proud to introduce you to my super colleague Virgina Guarddon, she is a fantastic woman, a native of Tenerife, but with a revolutionary life that will make your experience of buying or selling a real delight.

Personally, I have just come back from spending 5 wonderful days on the island of Tenerife and I have to say that my experience there has been fabulous. The food at the Guachinches is unbeatable value for money, their wine is so tasty and their people very friendly.

Tenerife has so much to offer that I wouldn't know where to start. For those who don't know, the Guachinches are humble winemakers' places, created precisely to promote their wine. That way, people can taste and buy to take away if they consider so, while enjoying a fantastic meal as the perfect accompaniment to that taste of a thousand flavors.

On the other hand, I was impressed to see how many natural saltwater pools there are along the wildest coasts. Being surrounded by the open sea, the people of Tenerife have found a perfect solution to enjoy the sun and the sea in safety and comfort.

Anyway, I could go on telling you a thousand other little things until you get bored, but I think it's best if you discover it for yourself.

So, I encourage you to come and see us. I'm sure that our passion for the islands and our large portfolio of exclusive properties, will infect you with our enthusiasm and you will end up wanting to come and live here with us.
