My very dear reader:
I've decided to start my blog like this. I know that "my very dear reader" sounds a bit exaggerated, but I, personally live in a superlative world. When I'm asked how I am, I always say: “Spectacular! or Fantastic!” You get the idea, don't you? Anyway, I just want you to know that you are very important to me. So important that you have my full attention.
This blog would make no sense without you, and that's why, my dear, to the contrary of what it originally seemed, it falls short. I understand that if you are reading me it is because you are somehow familiar with the Canary Islands. You may have already made investments in Gran Canaria, or perhaps you are thinking of doing so in the near future. In my previous blog, I made a short presentation of the company and the team behind it; we are six daring, hard-working, rigorous and constantly growing women.
Today, I would love to talk to you about Gran Canaria, my beloved island; and I would like to do it from a different perspective. Today, if you may, I would love it if you could try to put yourself in my place, I would love you to see, if only for a moment, what I see :-)
Did you know that Gran Canaria is known by many as "a mini continent"? Why? Because in less than an hour by car, you can go from sunbathing on the beach, to putting on a jacket on a mountain because it's cold and it's spitting. - In Gran Canaria it doesn't rain, it almost always spits. ; ) It is a wonderful place, with culture, leisure, sports and extraordinary landscapes.
The island has fantastic beaches of golden sand, some others are made of black sand and we even have pebble beaches; and an almost guaranteed sunshine, 365 days per year.Gran Canaria is a mixture of beach, city, mountain, and we even live the Saturday night fever sometimes, although now for obvious reasons, the night life has been minimized. When you come to see us you can't miss visiting some of the best places in the island such as Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas or Mogán.
If you go to the north I recommend you to visit Arucas, San Felipe, Agaete and of course, the illustrious city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In the metropolis, is where you find anything and everything. It is a very busy city but with alot to offer, as we are an island, the capital also has beaches, one of them very popularcalled Las Canteras. This beach is famous because it has a long volcanic rock that measurealmost three kilometers long about 50 meters from shore. A complete spectacle! Can you imagine it? Type it down in google and you will see it. When I was a little girl I would swimthere and then jump into the water, in a place we called the lift. Then I would wait for awave to come in so I would jump back on the rock. Now when I think about it, I get a little ill hahaha.
Anyway, there must be endless reasons why you would want to come here. Let me guess, apart from the obvious scenery reasons, I'm sure that if you come from the mainland orsomewhere in Europe, our climate has something to do with it. ;-)They call it the eternal spring. Because it is neither too warm nor too cold. Our centigrade degrees are between 20ºC and 28ºC. Ideal!
That is why there is an increasing demand for houses in Gran Canaria. In fact, since covid, this is one of the sectors that has undergone a disruptive change. Suddenly, the sale of spacious houses with garden areas has skyrocketed by more than250% and yet, on the other hand, the sale of apartments has suffered the opposite effect.Incredible, isn't it? Not because prices have dropped, no, but because demand is much lower. Fortunately for us, La Boutique before the pandemic, was already in an exclusive niche, and that is why we have been able to continue growing and maintaining excellence. During the last year we have advised hundreds of homeowners and buyers with different needs to accompany them in this process that sometimes can be arduous and tedious if done alone.
If you are in that situation, where you don't know where to start, what to do or how to do it,I would love to hear from you. We will be happy to help you and offer you all our advice freeof charge.
With love, Elena
